Athar is a Senior Merchant with Tower Hill Advisory Services, LLC. His 26 year career in retail covers nearly every category of merchandise and every type of store. Athar’s expertise includes Retail Asset Valuations, Excess and Obsolete Inventory Monetization, Store Openings, Special Event-Sales, Merchandising, Interim Management, and Human Resources.

Multilingual, speaking four different languages, Athar has worked with retailers all across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and India. His long resume of projects include his work with specialty stores, grocery stores, covenience stores, big box, and major department stores including luxury brands, cosmetics and fragrances. He is considered a leading specialist for luxury and fine jewelry companies.

Since the mid-90’s, Athar has served in supervisory, regional, and Lead positions during the course of conducting liquidation sales and other sale initiatives. He is highly skilled in operations, sales, personnel motivation, expense control and P&L responsibility, as well as Loss Prevention. Athar has helped convert over $3,000,000,000 of hardline and softline inventory assets into working capital for multiple acquisition, liquidation and turnaround clients.

Some of the well-recognized retailers Athar has worked with include Borders Book Stores, Circuit City, Linens-n-Things, Albertsons, Levitz Furniture, Fashion Bug, Homelife, and Kmart. In the jewelry category, Athar has worked with many specialty and large jewelry chains including Shreve, Crump & Low, the oldest purveyor of luxury goods in North America, Friedman’s Jewelers, Service Merchandise Catalog Showrooms, Schwarzschild Jewelers in Virginia, and Rocca Jewelers in Chicago.

Early in his career Athar served as general manager of the Hawaiian location of a leading luxury diamond jewelry company, House of Adler. Adler operated stores in Antwerp, Hong Kong, Hawaii, the Middle East and in US Army military exchanges. During his time with the House of Adler, Athar opened new stores in the Middle East, managed accounts receivable, and authored a manual for employee training purposes..

Athar received an MBA from the Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, the United Kingdom. He holds a Postgraduate Level 7 Diploma in Business Strategy, and a Postgraduate Level 7 Diploma in Human Resource Management.
